A theater is an inherently dangerous place.  We are constantly dealing with electricity, extreme weight issues, heights, power tools, time constraints, and we tend to move a lot of stuff around in the dark.

First and foremost, you need to protect your most valuable asset - your people.   Whether they're students, community members, or professional actors and technicians, without them, the show will NOT go on!  And without a formal, continuous, and comprehensive maintenance program, you are putting those people in danger.

Likewise, the equipment in your space represents a huge investment.  Without proper maintenance and upkeep, you can lose thousands of dollars by having to replace equipment before its useful life is up.

Theater Support Services has the following services available to help you meet the technical needs of your space.

1) We have a Theater Maintenance Program designed especially for school and community theaters.  Theater Support Services can keep your equipment well maintained and in safe working order.   We have developed a comprehensive checklist and during a three day visit, our crew will clean, test, and inspect the various theatrical equipment in your space.  In that process, we will create an inventory list of your equipment.  In the follow up documentation, we will provide a list of equipment that needs further service (manufacturer's service which we may not be able to provide), suggestions for equipment liquidation, and for equipment purchase so you can begin to increase your technical capabilities.

2) Technical Training.  We understand that many theaters can't afford their own technician, but that doesn't mean your shows have to suffer.  We can help you get the most out of the equipment you have, which can mean the difference between a good show and a great show.  For one of our clients, our technical training seminar is actually a summer school class and the students get class credit!

3) System design and installation.  We have completed many successful installations for a wide range of venues (theaters, churches, and gymnasiums).  The best part is that we protect your budget.  Since we don't sell equipment, we won't saddle you with the most expensive item regardless of your need.  We have a design and installation fee, but we work with you to get you the best possible price on the equipment we recommend.

4) Production Design Services.  We have several wonderful designers who have created lighting designs, sound designs, and scenic designs for hundreds of performances in a variety of different venues.   A design portfolio page is under construction.  Contact us for more information.
