The Stoughton Opera House is a beautiful little theater located on the second floor of the Stoughton City Hall Building.
The residents of Stoughton voted to save their 100 year old City Hall building and the Opera House. The building was remodeled and brought up to code for accessibility. But the interior of the Opera House needed a complete renovation. The place was gutted and lovingly restored with all private funds. After fourteen years of remodeling and renovation, the Opera House was almost ready. Theater Support Services was hired to make the Opera House a professional, working theater. For the next three years, TSS worked to transition the Renovation Committee into a formal working board that was part of the City structure. We developed the policies and procedures to govern the operation of the space, established the box office, and wrote a business plan that eventually helped them secured city funding which allowed them to hire their first full time Executive Director.
