It would be nice if we could apply a one-size-fits-all solution to every theater, but they differ in size, staffing, mission, and not just the community they serve, but the position they hold within their community.

There are however, a wide variety of models that can help move your organization forward.  At Theater Support Services, we have experts with years of experience working within a wide variety of institutional models who can help you find and develop (or refine) the model that will work best for your situation.

We adhere to the motto of the Bolz Center for Arts Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Madison: "The Arts Must Thrive as a Business to Survive as an Art." Nothing can survive in today's climate without implementing the best business practices.  Every decision you make must be an informed decision using the best research available.

We can help you with everything from Business Plans to Box Office to Board Development.   That’s what we did for the Stoughton Opera House after they had finished their renovation.

For the past six years, Theater Support Services has been providing a theater management primer to new organizations and their staff.  This six hour seminar is part of a grant administered by the Wisconsin Arts Board with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.

“I want to thank you for an excellent presentation yesterday.  It was well thought out, organized, and cut to the chase. Even after years of doing this in one form or another it is always refreshing to be reminded or to learn new perspectives on what we need to do to keep our eyes on the "ball".  Participant’s response.
